The 2022 Knaus Sport & Fun Black Edition (also known as the Black Selection) is a dynamic and stylish version of Knaus’s acclaimed lifestyle caravan. Designed for active travellers who value both practicality and modern design, it combines the flexibility of a load-carrier with the comfort and quality of a premium touring caravan.
The Black Edition builds on the Sport & Fun’s sporty DNA with darker, high-contrast styling, an upgraded chassis, and premium materials throughout. It is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor adventures and need space for bikes, boards, or other sporting gear, while still wanting a sleek and contemporary aesthetic.
Externally, the caravan features an aerodynamic profile and a large rear door—approximately 920 mm wide—providing easy access for loading large items. The Black Edition package adds distinctive black and chrome graphics, darkened taillights, and carbon-look trim finishes. The roof rails and integrated ladder allow for roof loads up to about 75 kg, perfect for surfboards or storage boxes. The body sits on the lightweight yet strong AL-KO Vario X chassis, with a maximum permissible mass of around 1,500 to 1,700 kg depending on specification. Dimensions for the popular 480 QL layout measure approximately 6.25 m in overall length, 2.32 m in width, and 2.57 m in height. An external 230 V socket is also included, providing convenient outdoor power access for electric grills, lights, or other accessories when enjoying time outside the caravan.
Inside, the layout balances comfort, practicality, and modern design. At the front sits a fixed double bed with a large storage area beneath, while the rear features a convertible L-shaped lounge that forms a second sleeping area. The kitchen includes a three-burner gas hob, stainless-steel sink, generous drawers and cupboards, and a refrigerator with a capacity of approximately 142 litres. The bathroom is compact but well thought-out, including a toilet and shower option in certain configurations.
